Porter Novelli has named Alicia Thompson managing director of its Atlanta office. She’ll be responsible for talent management and strategic growth at the location, reporting to Jennifer Swing, president, North America.

Thompson comes over from Edelman’s Atlanta office where she served as general manager. She was also a senior VP in the firm’s consumer practice, working with clients such as Arby’s Restaurant Group, Interface, Teavana and Nestle/Gerber. Client-side experience includes nine years on the communications team at Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen and a PR post at The Coca-Cola Company on the North American brands team.
