Katrin Kuhlmann, an economic and trade policy pro, has joined Portland’s international advisory council.

The former negotiator at the Office of the US Trade Representative handled policy regarding Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia. She also was senior advisor at the Corporate Council on Africa.
Currently, Kuhlmann is president/founder of the New Markets Lab, a non-profit working on law, social issues and economic issues.
At Portland, she will advise clients of the Omnicom unit in areas such as pan-African development, corporate philanthropy, global trade and infrastructure.
Tim Allan, Portland’s group managing director, expects Kuhlmann’s “internationally recognized reputation across Africa” and “extensive background in international development and trade issues” will benefit Portland and its clients.
