Jim Jones, a former Environmental Protection Agency assistant administrator, has joined the Consumer Specialty Products Assn, as executive VP-strategic alliances & industry relations.

He will expand ties with NGOs, industry, retailers and government officials, while increasing sustainability efforts among CSPA members, which represent makers/distributors of cleaning products, aerosols, automotive and pest management products.
Steve Caldeira, CSPA CEO, called Jones a "proven leader" who is a "widely respected environmental regulator, strategic negotiator and communicator."
At EPA for more than 30 years, Jones was responsible for overseeing a staff of about 1,000 people involved in carrying out the nation's pollution prevention, toxic substances and pesticides laws.
He played a key role in the effort to overhaul the Toxic Substance Control Act that President Obama signed into law in 2016 and the establishment of the Green Guidelines for the federal purchase of green products.
CSPA members have combined sales of more than $100B.
Jones has been consulting with nonprofits and the private sector since exiting EPA in January.
