Publisher Rodale, which pioneered the organic movement with its mission to “inspire health, healing and happiness in the world. Starting with you," has hired investment banker Allen & Co. to explore strategic alternatives.
Currently known for titles such as Prevention, Women’s Health, Men’s Health, Runner’s World and Bicycling, Rodale says it engages 100M customers via channels including magazines, online, books, e-commerce, events, video, mobile and direct-to-consumer.

Allen & Co. will consider options such as the sale of the company, divestiture of individual properties and continuation of Rodale’s business plan.
“We believe that Rodale’s brands can continue to expand and deeper their connectivity with consumers across all platforms through targeted investment and expertise in leading edge technology, brand building and commercialism,” Maria Rodale, CEO said in a statement.
Rodale book titles include Jessica Alba’s “The Honest Life,” Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth,” Alicia Silverstone’s “The Kind Diet,” and Howard Schultz’’s “Onward.”
