Alex MacLaverty, a member of Hotwire’s global leadership team, has been named chief operating officer of the tech PR specialist, as well as president of the agency’s Europe, Middle East and Africa and Australia/New Zealand region offices.
MacLaverty joined Hotwire in 2004 and served as UK managing director for three years before later being named group MD of the agency’s EMEA and ANZ offices. She was previously a senior account manager at hbl media ltd and an events manager at zenith corporate communications.
The COO role is a new one at the PR and communications agency. MacLaverty will report to Barbara Bates, who was named group CEO of the global tech PR agency last month.
New York-headquartered Hotwire, which is owned by Australia-based marketing and communications network Enero Group Limited, is one of the top 10 technology PR firms in the U.S. with $13.2 million in net fees last year.
