Paul Manafort, Donald Trump's former campaign chairman, is using Jason Maloni as spokesperson to deal with the fallout following his June 27 federal filing showing that his firm received more than $17M for lobbying work on behalf of the political party of Ukraine’s ex-president.

The former principal of lobbying powerhouse Black Manafort Stone and Kelly was forced out of the Trump campaign due to criticism of his pro-Russia work.
His Foreign Agents Registration Act filing covers payments received from 2012 to 2014 for work done for the poltical party of ousted Ukrainian leader Victor Yanukovych, who fled to Russia.
The Washington Post reported today that Manafort is one of several Team Trump members under scrutiny by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who is probing Russian meddling in the 2016 election.
Maloni, who describes himself as a communications specialist, told O’Dwyer’s that he joined Manafort’s team about four months ago.
He did a ten-year stint at Levick before exiting in 2016 as senior VP and chief of the DC firm’s litigation practice. He also worked at Powell Tate and Marina Ein PR.
