Donald Trump outdid himself today, tweeting that Republicans should just let ObamaCare fail, which would strip millions of Americans of healthcare insurance.
Is that leadership or a cop-out?
Republicans, brave enough to meet constituents in town halls, faced a storm of criticism from angry people who would have lost health insurance coverage.
Candidate Trump sang a very different tune, promising healthcare for all, even those with pre-existing conditions.
He vowed to offer a big beautiful health insurance plan. What happened?
Like most things Trump, his campaign promises were empty words. E.g, Trump yesterday rescinded his campaign pledge to kill the Iran nuclear deal, a bit of news "lost" in the coverage of the healthcare fiasco.
One hopes that Trump's snub of Americans today provides some backbone to Republicans who supported him in the hopes of passing a GOP agenda. Shout out to you, Paul "the Irish Undertaker" Ryan!
The rest of the world "caught on" to Trump a while ago.
Trump hardly distinguished himself at the G-20 meetings of world leaders where he demonstrated his lack of diplomatic finesse by, among other things, telling the French President’s wife she was in “good shape,” relinquishing his seat for an important meeting to his daughter and finally “buddying” up to Vladimir Putin when it came time to talk about the Russia’s possible interference in the recent elections.
Trump's White House has deteriorated to a confusing pileup of politicos and armies of “spokespersons” trying to explain it all.
Is this any way to Make America Great Again? No. It's all so sad.
The Trump Presidency is six months old on Thursday, which means there are 3 ½ years left, assuming it completes a full term.
That's a lot of time to damage the standing of the US Government in the minds of Americans and the rest of the world.
It's time for Republicans and Democrats to join together to restore sanity to the madness of the White House.
