The Republican operative disagreed with Trump's strategy to either limit the scope of Justice Dept. special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation or discredit his team, according to published reports.

Politico noted that Corallo has close ties with Mueller.
Corallo is a former Justice Dept. press secretary and chief spokesperson for John Ashcroft during George W. Bush's administration.
Prior to working for Ashcroft, Corallo was press secretary for former Louisiana Republican Congressman Bob Livingston, who chaired the House Appropriations Committee.
He has represented high-profile clients such as Blackwater Worldwide, Karl Rove and former American International Group chief Hank Greenberg.
Corallo had been serving as spokesperson for Trump's personal lawyer Marc Kasowitz, who was the lead attorney for the Russian probe.
CBS reported that Kasowitz, who has worked for Trump since the early 2000s, has been replaced by defense attorney John Dowd and Jay Sekulow.
