Reuters named Jean Yoon to the newly created position of executive editor, editorial strategy, based in New York. Yoon, who is slated to begin in October, is Reuters regional editor, Asia, as well as global editor, strategic centers, with about 800 journalists under her purview. Prior to her editorial roles, she served as chief financial correspondent in Seoul and UK technology and media correspondent in London. In her new role, she will take on responsibility for the company’s global editorial strategy in partnership with editor in chief Steve Adler.

The National Press Club is giving Tony Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon, the co-hosts of ESPN’s “Pardon the Interruption,” its Fourth Estate Award. Kornheiser started his career in journalism with Newsday, and has also worked for the New York Times and Washington Post, as well as hosting a radio show on D.C. station WTEM that was syndicated nationally on ESPN Radio. Wilbon began his career at the Washington Post and has been an NBA studio analyst for “KIA NBA Countdown” on ABC and ESPN since 2006. Previous winners of the Fourth Estate Award include Wolf Blitzer, Gwen Ifill and Charlie Rose. The award will be presented at a dinner in DC on Oct. 4.
The Automotive Video Association, a newly created group of automotive video journalists, announced that it will host the first-ever AVA awards this fall. Established to promote the video aspect of covering the auto industry, the AVA says that its membership is open to all professionals who produce content related to the industry. The award program, titled “The Mountain Run,” will take place Sept. 23 at the Resort of the Mountain in Welches, Oregon. Details of the finalists and criteria will be released in the coming weeks.
