Eugene Scott, who covered the 2016 presidential election for CNN, will join the Washington Post’s “The Fix” offering to report on the “politics of identity,” according to the paper.

DC native Scott began his newspaper career at the Cape Argus in Cape Town, South Africa. He reported for the Kansas City Star, Charlotte Observer, Arizona Republican and did a stint as research at Time.
The Post expects Scott’s “deep expertise and a creative approach to this important subject, as well as a range of skills that will accelerate The Fix’s evolution into a rich, engaging multi-media blog.”
