Camila Knowles will move to Cornerstone Government Affairs Oct. 1 as senior VP in Atlanta.
She works as commissioner for Georgia’s Dept. of Community Affairs involved with infrastructure, housing and economic development issues. DCA also manages federal and state funding programs.
Earlier, Knowles was chief of staff for the Peach State’s Senator Saxby Chambliss, who stepped down in 2015. She began her communications career in Chambliss’ office in 2003.
Jerry Usry of Cornerstone said the addition of Knowles provides the shop’s Atlanta clients “legal and policy research capabilities unmatched in our market.”
The Washington-based firm has more 60 professionals based in 11 offices.
