Ontario, Canada’s most populous province and home to its largest city Toronto and national capital Ottawa, has hired SKDKnickerbocker to raise its profile in areas of trade and other issues that affect its ties with the US.
SKDKnick's agreement with Ontario’s states the need to “make the case at the right events, with the right reporters on cable TV.” It cites the challenges of “breaking through and on an issue as dense as trade” and vows to “communicate our issue in terms the public can understand and get behind.”

The firm promises to target business publications (Financial Times, Economist, New York Times,Wall Street Journal, Business Insider) for Ontario, which accounts for more than half of Canada’s manufacturing output and produces more cars than Michigan via its General Motors, Chrysler, Toyota, Ford and Honda plants.
Political podcasts, “top-tier TV and radio” (CNN, MSNBC, Fox, NPR, Sunday morning news programs) and outlets in border and Rust Belt states “with opioid crises” are also on SKDKnick’s hit list.
There’s a $25K project fee charge to cover narrative development, media training, event preparation and crafting a core speech, which is following by a $25K monthly retainer for strategic and digital communications work.
