Ogilvy handled Hong Kong's successful bid for the 2022 Gay Games, beating Washington and Guadalajara, Mexico, to the finish line for the event that is expected to attract more than 15K participants.
The Federation of GG selected HK due to its robust sports infrastructure, support across Asia and track record of supporting diversity and inclusion.
The 2022 GG will mark the 40th anniversary of the event, which is open to all competitors regardless of sexual orientation, ability and gender. Competitors come from many countries, including those where homosexuality is illegal.
The 1994 GG in New York marked the first time the event had more participants than the Olympics.
The US has hosted the Gay Games six times. Paris will host the 2018 GG. Parisian Mayor Anne Hidalgo announced the selection of HK on Oct. 30 following a pitch from the three competing cities
The HK GG will be the first to be held in Asia.
