The Publicity Club of New York will host a Nov. 21 luncheon featuring news people who cover the parenting and children’s beats.
“A Look at the Parents, Child & Pet Beats” will take place at Syracuse University’s Lubin House, 11 East 61st Street in Manhattan from noon to 2. Five top editors and producers in the field will share their ideas on producing effective content that addresses those topics.
The afternoon’s lineup of experts consists of: Julia Wang, head of digital content at pregnancy and parenting website The Bump; Kelly Wallace, digital correspondent and editor-at-large at CNN; Katie Buckley, a producer for NBC’s “Today”; NY Metro Parents editorial director Debra Skolnick; and Diane Debrovner, deputy editor of Parents Magazine.
To register for the luncheon, go to publicityclub.org.
In January, Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications, which hosts the PCNY luncheons, will offer two professional-development courses for PR professionals. “Leading at the Next Level” and “Social Media & Analytics” will be held at Lubin House from Jan. 6 to Jan. 10 and be followed by a semester of distance and online learning extending through April.
Attendees who register by Nov. 16 are eligible for a 20 percent scholarship. For more information, contact Nellie Jones at email@example.com or call (315) 443-3368.
