Alison McAfee, senior director of corporate communications for Hawaiian Airlines for the past four years, has taken the managing director-communications job at Airlines for America.

McAfee piloted global media relations and internal communications for HA for her perch in Honolulu.

From 2006 to 2013, McAfee worked at JetBlue Airways in New York as spokesperson and external communications manager focused on marketing, branding and sales functions.

At Washington-based A4A, she will report to Vaughn Jennings, VP-communications.

McAfee also has worked outside the airlines business. She was a publicist for NBC Sports and did a three-year stint at Edelman Southwest representing clients such as Whole Foods Market and Texas Tourism

A4A represents the commercial aviation sector, which it says employs more than 10M US jobs and stimulates $1.5T in economic activity.
