Peraton, which develops technology solutions for the defense, intelligence, homeland security and space sectors, has named Matt McQueen chief communications officer.
The 18-year PR veteran joins from Northrop Grumman, where he led communications teams involved with its cyber, intelligence and space systems units.
Earlier, he had roles in NG’s government relations, business development, strategic communications and planning functions.
CEO Stu Shea said McQueen will help Peraton communicate a “fresh brand identity” and highlight its key differentiators in the key cyber, space and intelligence markets.
Peraton is the renamed government services unit of Harris Corp., which was acquired in April by Veritas Capital.
It is based in Herndon, Va., and employs about 3,500 people in the US and Canada.

Senior-most communications executives in the Fortune 500 earned between $50,000 and $100,000 more this year than they did two years ago, according to a recent survey of chief communications officers.

The pressure is on PR pros to make sure corporate messaging remains clear and cohesive. Business jargon is an obstacle to achieving this goal.
In today's volatile world of constant disruption, the ability to offer reliability and dependability is more valuable than ever.
