Murray Hill, a Maryland agency that handles labor and progressive clients, has responded to this month's Supreme Court decision on corporate funding of elections with an announcement that it intends to run for Congress. The agency, that is.
"... thanks to an enlightened Supreme Court, now we can eliminate the middle-man and run for office ourselves," reads a statement from the firm, which is headed by Group360 veteran Eric Hensal.
Hensal says, as the "designated human" running the campaign for the firm, he'll file the necessary paperwork put Murray Hill on the Republican ticket in Maryland's 8th Congressional District.
Says Hensal: "We want to get in on the ground floor of the democracy market before the whole store is bought by China."
The firm says it is the first corporate entity to exercise its constitutional right to run for office: "It's our democracy. We bought it, we paid for it, and we're going to keep it."
