Facebook has launched a resource page for PR professionals in an effort to “share what we have learned about creating social content, promoting events, optimizing Pages, and integrating with tools off of Facebook,” the company said.
The social network, which counts 500M users, also held an event for PR pros at its headquarters on July 20 led by members of the company’s corporate communications staff.
“I actually think that the tools Facebook and other companies like us are creating are fundamentally changing the communications profession,” said Elliot Schrage VP of global communications. “I think as a result the skills that we have and the importance of the work we do is really growing tremendously.”
But, Schrage noted, “We have not completely figured out all of these tools,” and said Facebook wants to hear from the PR community about what works.
