Calypso King Harry Belafonte is a YouTube sensation after appearing to doze off at the start of a morning news show interview in Bakersfield, Calif., on Oct. 14.

Belafonte claims he was meditating during a technical glitch. His spokesman, Ken Sunshine, took a light-hearted approach to the incident noting the drag of hundreds of interviews on the 84-year-old singer in promoting a documentary, memoir and CD.

Said Sunshine: "True to form, there was a technical glitch in the feed to a local station in Bakersfield, CA. His earpiece wasn't working, so he decided to take the time to meditate before the rest of his Day-O ... Maybe the world would be a better place if more people took a moment to meditate."
