Jen Psaki, senior VP and managing director of the D.C. office of Global Strategy Group, is taking a leave from that role to re-join President Obama’s team this week as traveling press secretary for the presidential campaign.

She was deputy communications director at the White House before moving to GSG last year and held the traveling press post under Robert Gibbs during the 2007 campaign.
Psaki was an aide to Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) and worked re-election bids for Iowa Sen. Tom Harkin and Gov. Tom Vilsack. She also handled communications for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee when Rahm Emanuel was chair.
GSG senior VP Jim Papa, another Obama alum, will lead the firm’s D.C. office in Psaki’s absence.
Rick Gorka, a veteran GOP PR aide who recently led communications for the New Jersey Republican party, is traveling press secretary for Mitt Romney.
