Starbucks, with the help of Edelman, opened its first store in India on Oct. 19 in Mumbai, a joint venture with Tata Global Beverages Limited, the world’s second largest tea company which is also Asia’s largest coffee plantation owner.
Starbucks said the store is designed to reflect its coffee heritage and embrace the local culture, with artifacts, Indian teakwood furniture, floor design and interiors created by local craftsmen and artists.

Promote Iceland, the public-private partnership established in 2010 as Iceland reeled from the global financial crisis, said air travel to the country has rebounded to record levels, forecasting a nearly 20% gain by the end of the year for about 2.4M passengers.
About one-quarter of the visitors are tourists, the promotion entity said, with the U.S., U.K., Germany and Norway comprising the top countries for visitors. Spending by tourists topped $1B in 2011.

Wagstaff Worldwide helped client Patina Restaurant Group handle the annual opening of the iconic Rockefeller Center ice skating rink on Oct. 13.
Patina, which operates the rink, had the chefs of two of its eateries, The Sea Grill and Rock Center Café, share the first skate of the year with actor Rob McClure of the Broadway play “Chaplin.”
The rink first opened on Christmas Day in 1936.
