Not buying this. He's trying
to rewrite the mess he made. Waiting this long to tell your story in an effective way just drags up the partisan rancor all over again.
Bill Huey, Strategic Communications (1/17):
If there were ever a guy who fit Senator Elizabeth Warren's description of the entrepreneur who benefited from the social contract that underlies success in this country, Schnatter is that guy.
Low–paid workers who make and deliver ho-hum pizza. The product is delivered on public roads paid for and maintained by the taxes we all pay. Its ingredients are planted, harvested, processed and delivered by low-paid workers throughout the logistics chain. Many of whom lack health insurance, either because they can't afford it or they are here illegally.
Will Papa John's honor the law? The proof will be in the dough, so to speak. The dough PJ and its franchisees shell out to pay for basic healthcare insurance.
And splitting hairs over the differences between what the PJ corporate brand does and what its franchisees do (as he did in the Huff & Puff Post) won't cut it. Just ask Denny's, or McDonald's, or Burger King.
Kevin Foley (1/17):
Schnatter hosted at least one fund raiser for Mitt Romney, who has the same net worth as pizza boy, $250MM.
These guys are worried about the small crumbs falling from their table. Pathetic. And shame on Peyton Manning, a union member, taking this guy's money. |
