MySpace has tapped Rosabel Tao to fill its vacant senior VP/corporate communications slot in Beverly Hills.
Tao, former VP of corporate communications for digital ad platform developer Spot Runner, had recently been running a PR consulting shop in L.A. with clients like Current Media and Spot Runner.

She takes up the senior VP spot on Aug. 30 vacated by Dani Dudeck in April at the News Corporation-owned social network.
MySpace President Mike Jones cited Tao’s track record of “building and guiding brands through periods of revitalization,” as well has her knowledge of the advertising sector, among other resume highlights.
MySpace has been a work-in-progress for News Corp., which bought it for $580M in 2006. The parent company cut 30 percent of MySpace’s workforce last year in a bid to better compete with rapidly growing Facebook.
Before her four years at Spot Runner, where she handled its launch in 2006, she was senior VP of corporate comms. for Bank of America’s consumer division and earlier worked on the agency side at GolinHarris (senior VP), Weber Shandwick (VP) and Fleishman-Hillard (A/S).
Dudeck left MySpace for a top PR post at Zynga, which develops games for social networks popularized on Facebook.
