Julie Tracy, chief communications officer for health software developer Epocrates, has moved to medical device company Wright Medical Group in its top PR and IR role.
She reunites with Wright’s new CEO, Robert Palmisano, who took the reins Sept. 17 and led device maker ev3 when Tracy headed corporate communications there.

The new appointments at Wright come after the company said earlier in September that it would lay off 80 staffers, about six percent of its workforce, in a restructuring.
Tracy has taken a senior VP and chief communications officer role for the 61-year-old Arlington, Tenn.-based maker of orthopedic surgical devices which are used in hip and knee operations.
The company said she has been granted a stock option to buy up to 30,000 shares exercised at $18.33 based on her continued employment. Wright shares hit a 52-week high of $18.75 last week.
Tracy was senior VP and chief comms. officer at ev3, building the company’s investor relations program. Earlier posts included Kyphon and Thoratec Corp.
Wright posted second quarter revenue of $132.5M, a four percent increase on net income of $6.1M.
