Paul Charles, COO of LEWIS PR and former communications director of Virgina Atlantic and EuroStar, made use of his airline PR background and made eight TV news appearances in the U.K. last week to discuss crisis communications amid the volcanic ash cloud that stifled global air traffic this month.
Charles told CNBC that passengers won't be blaming the airlines for the crisis because it's an act of God, but they will be blaming the carriers for the level of communication during the crisis. "Are they communicating well enough? Are they using social media feeds like Facebook and Twitter to get their messages across about when they'll be flying again or when passengers can expect a refund?"
Charles also appeared on SKY News, Channel 4 U.K., Bloomberg, BBC World, BBC News, GMTV and CNN. |
