The technology-focused public-private agency working to diversify West Virginia's economy is on the hunt for a firm to develop a communications plan.
TechConnectWV encompasses private, public, higher education, research and nonprofit sectors. The non-profit corporation, under the auspices of the West Virginia Coalition for Technology-Based Economic Development, released an RFP on Dec. 11 for a firm to create a comprehensive communications strategy, including social media, supporting TCWV's mission to build up the tech sector in the coal-dependent state.
The state has an existing base in chemical and advanced material industries, as well as federal operations in biometrics and a university research base in biotechnology.
The resulting pact will run through September 2017.
