APCO Worldwide announced today that it will break ground on a new office in Frankfurt.

The new outpost, located in one of Europe’s main financial hubs, marks the independent global communication agency’s second German location (APCO opened a Berlin office in 2000).

"APCO has operated in Germany very successfully over the past 15 years,” Robert Ardelt, managing director of APCO Worldwide in Germany, told O’Dwyer’s. “Opening in Frankfurt — in addition to Berlin — was just the natural next step for our business. Frankfurt is increasingly a business and financial hub, not only for Germany but also for Europe and beyond."

Leading the Frankfurt team will be deputy managing director Isabel Kassabian, who currently manages the agency’s operations in Berlin. Kassabian, a Frankfurt native, joined APCO in 2002, and will relocate to the central German city within the coming months.

Washington, D.C.-based APCO, which accounted $120 million in 2015 net fees, now staffs nearly 700 employees at offices in more than 30 major cities globally.

APCO in January appointed Claire Boussagol, managing director of the agency’s Brussels office, to chair APCO’s European Region and lead business development and collaboration efforts between its European offices.
