Tim Race, a longtime business editor for The New York Times, has joined FleishmanHillard, where he’s been named a senior level strategist.

A 27-year Times veteran, Race has served as an editor, writer and newsroom manager at the newspaper of record in both the U.S. and Europe, covering the automotive, healthcare, technology and energy industries.

For more than four years he was European business editor at the New York Times in London before eventually returning stateside, where he assumed the role of energy, autos and transportation editor. Prior to that he was an international business editor and business health care editor for the Times in New York. He began with tenure with the Gray Lady in 1991 as technology editor, a role he held for more than seven years, before becoming Monday business editor in 1998.

Race will now help design and shape FH’s editorial approach for clients, including the structure, timing and sequence of stories across channels. He’ll be stationed in the Omnicom unit’s New York office.
