Egyptian Americans for Democracy and Human Rights has retained Just Consulting, which specializes in social justice and corporate social responsibility matters, to push Washington to promote the restoration of democracy in Egypt.

egyptThe Springfield, Va.-based organization stands against the July 3 military coup that toppled president Mohammed Morsi and the ensuing crackdown on political dissenters.

It also challenges the notice that the overthrow of the inept Morsi was an expression of public will.

EADHR board member Ahmed Shehata today penned a sponsored piece in The Hill that railed against the Obama administration’s “utter disregard for the safety, security and democratic rights of the Egyptian people.”

He wrote: “While the U.S. must consider its own interests in the region, it is baffling and disheartening to thing the current administration would choose to discount the suffering that continues to occur on a daily basis as well as the complete violation of democratic principles which it espouses to the rest of the world.”

EADHR, which has sponsored noisy demonstrations at the Egyptian embassy and in New York, believes that without American pressure to reform, Egypt will “fall back into the grasp of despotism, causing even more death and destruction along the way.”

Joseph Grieboski, head of Just Consulting and founder of Institute on Religion and Public Policy, heads the Egyptian account.

In 2012, it picked up the Jeddah, Saudi Arabia-based Organization of Islamic Cooperation as a client. IC calls itself the “collective voice” of 55 countries and the Palestinian Authority and advocate for the globe’s 1.5B Muslims.

Grieboski also has worked for the Kingdom of Morocco
