122313viji-rangaswami.jpgA 12-year veteran of the House Ways and Means Committee's panel on trade will join Liberty Mutual as VP-federal affairs at yearend.

Viji Rangaswami, who held the subcommittee?s staff director slot since 2009, will be in charge of international issues for the Boston-based financial services company. She helped negotiate trade deals with Chile, Singapore, Morocco and Singapore.

Rangaswami also worked as an associate in the Carnegie Endowment?s trade, equity and developmental projects

Paul Mattera, senior VP and chief PA officer, said Rangaswami will focus on issues such as trade, market access and regulatory matters as Liberty builds out its government affairs capabilities.

Liberty earned $830M in 2012 on revenues of $38B. The No. 3 U.S. property & casualty company operates in 29 countries.
