The Florida Dept. of Citrus has planted a review of its seven-figure PR and marketing accounts.

The state agency, funded by an excise tax on citrus fruit, seeks an agency to handle consumer PR, crisis communications and similar tasks, while the ad-centric account calls for brand management, consumer engagement, paid media and measurement, according to RFPs released April 24. The overall goal is to maximize consumer demand for Florida's citrus products.

GolinHarris is the longtime incumbent on the PR account and last defended its work in a close competition in 2013. PR budget is $2M-$4M per year. The advertising-focused account in review is expected to bill from $3.3M-$5.3M per year.

The FDOC wants a firm with experience in PR for agriculture commodities, trade associations and global brands.

Proposals are due May 22. View the PR RFP (link). | Ad RFP.
