The National Primate Research Centers, a network of seven scientific institutes around the country designated by the National Institutes of Health, are looking for a PR firm.
The centers, located at major universities in California, Oregon, Texas, Louisiana, Washington, Wisconsin and Georgia, provide facilities, animals and expertise for investigators using primates for biomedical research. They want a firm to provide branding PR, onling outreach, media relations and strategy, measurement and other information services.
An agency would benefit from experience with the NIH, government education and relationship-building. Potential conflicts could arise in the biomedical field.
The centers released an RFP on Nov. 9 with a deadline of Dec. 18, 2015. A one-year contract is planned. Lisa Newbern, public affairs chief at the NPRC at Emory University, is overseeing the search.
