The $3.3B Illinois jurisdiction that fosters healthcare, biotech and medical institutions is reaching out for agency proposals to guide marketing and PR after creating a new strategic plan and logo.

imdcThe Illinois Medical District Commission, a 72-year-old political subdivision that oversees 560 acres on Chicago's west side, encompass the University of Illinois medical school, two hospitals and two major medical centers, five health clinics, as well as the Chicago Technology Park, among other institutions. The site churns $3.3B in annual economic activity for the city and state and claims to be the country's largest urban medical district.

The commission, which said it has not set a budget or range for the work, released an RFP June 7, noting firms can pitch either the marketing or PR segments, form joint proposals, or pitch both.

The IMDC worked with Viola Partners and Ritz Communications on its recently redesigned logo and a revamp of internal messaging. It has also concluded a strategic planning process with its major institutions outlining four key strategies encompassing real estate development, community health, translational research and clinical data.

Proposals are due July 3.
