Josh Drobnyk, a top public affairs official at the US Dept. of the Treasury and deputy chief of staff, has moved to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority as senior VP for corporate communications.

Drobnyk, who takes up the post today, did a stint as acting secretary for public affairs at Treasury and earlier was minority communications director and deputy staff director for the House Ways and Means Committee.

He was communications director for Rep. Chris Carney (D-Pa.) and worked as a reporter after starting out in advertising with J. Walter Thompson.

Robert W. Cook took the reins as president and CEO of FINRA in December atop the regulator of securities firms in the US.
