The City of Santa Monica’s communications office has issued a request for quotation for qualified individuals or agencies to write and edit the city’s bi-monthly newsletter, Seascape, as well as additional support with other marketing/communications related deliverables.

Scope of the work would include working with Santa Monica’s communications office to plan, organize and manage the layout of text, images, artwork, photos and coordinating with designers, photographers, writers, artists, translators to manage production and deadlines for online and/or print publishing cycle; receiving content to review, revise and edit; suggesting stories, generate headline ideas and/or research and write stories in alignment with the city’s messaging, goals and services; setting publication standards and establishing goals and expectations; proofreading, editing, improving stories and checking content/facts for accuracy and errors; working with city staff and other contributors to obtain correct information where needed and to make necessary corrections and adjustments and ensuring that content is submitted on time.

The individual(s) hired would initially be contracted for the term of one year, with two one-year renewal options available exercised at the city’s discretion.
