Iconic men’s lifestyle and entertainment mainstay Playboy has named James Rickman executive editor.

James Rickman James Rickman

Rickman joined Playboy in 2015 as senior editor, where he oversaw entertainment content in print and online, as well as the publication’s Playboy Interview feature. Prior to that he was with fashion and pop-culture magazine PAPER, where he first served as contributing editor before being named managing editor in 2014.

Rickman joined the magazine around the time of its controversial 2015 editorial decision to relaunch its format without full frontal nudity. That decision was ultimately short lived, however, as nudity returned to the magazine after a year-long hiatus with its March-April 2017 issue. That issue also saw a return of the magazine's Playboy Philosophy and Party Jokes features.

Playboy also announced Leila Brillson has been named executive editor of playboy.com and Chris Deacon has been listed as Playboy Enterprises’ creative director.  All three will be stationed in Playboy’s Beverly Hills headquarters and report to chief creative officer Cooper Hefner.
