Joe Baerlein has put together a team of veterans schooled in crisis and reputation management, public policy initiatives, communications counsel for C suite executives and data and cyber security to form Baerlein & Partners.

Key players in the new venture include Jonathan Karush, president of Liberty Concepts, digital technology company; Eran Lobel, CEO of ELEMENT Productions, creative video production and content marketing company; Rosemary Petta and Susan Ryan of Petta Ryan, media planners and buyers for traditional broadcast and digital properties; John Marttila, head of survey/policy analysis company Marttila Strategies; and Ed Davis, former police commissioner, and his business partner, Sharon Hanson, who head cyber security company Edward Davis LLC.

“This team has worked together for years and now we are formalizing our business relationship to further solidify our goal of being the best thinkers and the most creative — the hardest working and the most innovative — all with the dedication to helping our clients travel this path of innovation with us so that their organizations continue to prosper,” Baerlein said.

Baerlein is trying to fill what he observes is “a huge vacuum in the marketplace between older established communications firms and start-up digital consultancies.”

A “virtual” staff of between 40-50 full-timers and another 100 freelancers, given the scope and nature of the project, can be called upon.

The firm is operating out of the ELEMENT Productions offices at 316 Stuart St. in Boston. Baerlein can be reached at [email protected] or contact Alexandria Gringeri at [email protected].
