Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric Shinseki resigned today amid the ongoing scandal at the federal agency.
President Barack Obama said in a press conference this morning that accepted Shinseki’s resignation with “considerable regret,” noting the secretary told him he couldn’t carry out the necessary reforms without being a distraction.
Shinseki is a retired four-star Army general.
