powerVirginia has kicked off a review of its seven-figure "Energy Sense" consumer education and outreach campaign with an RFP process through August 1.

Golin's Arlington office won the last review in 2009.

The Commonwealth's State Corporation Commission, which oversees utilities, insurance, financial institutions, railroads and other businesses, administers the five-year-old energy conservation push under the tagline "Value Your Power."

The account encompasses earned and paid media, grassroots outreach and social media targeting businesses, households and other institutions with a goal of reducing energy consumption by 10 percent of the 2006 level by 2022.

Budget is $1M per year over a contract that could stretch three and a half years with options.

An optional pre-proposals conference is slated for July 1. Proposals are due Aug. 1.
