Hill+Knowlton today celebrated its 30th year in China in a reception in Beijing featuring CEO Jack Martin.

The WPP unit was the first PR major to crack the China market. Martin said the China operation reflects H+K's "bold pioneering spirit."

He said the firm established its position as a market leader, partnered with major international brands and helped grow native brands and home and elsewhere.

H+K has 200-plus staffers in offices in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.

Vivian Lines, H+K Asia Pacific chairman, said China "remains a key driver of our success in the APAC region" due to its "solid foundation of seasoned talent and expertise combined with an ability to remain agile and responsive" to client needs.
