Bell Pottinger has named John Rivett managing director of its consumer practice.
The one-time deputy chief of Hill+Knowlton Strategies' London office and head of its EMEA marketing network also ran Paratus brand/digital shop, which was acquired by Next 15 Communications Group.
Rivett has counseled clients such as Coca-Cola, Smirnoff Vodka, Ford, Vodafone, Goodyear, Levi Strauss and Harley-Davidson.
David Wilson, BP's consumer group chairman, said Rivett has the insight, approach and energy needed to deliver a client's message.
The firm has done consumer campaigns for HomeServe, Grown Up Chocolate Co., Experian and Fortnum & Mason.
