South Carolina's Lancaster County is looking for an PR partner to update its website with an eye toward attracting new business and industry to the region just south of Charlotte.

The Lancaster County Economic Development Corp. boasts of a "business-friendly tax structure" that helped it emerge as one of the Palmetto State's job-creation engines.

During the past five years, LC attracted more than $700M in investments for office, industrial and distribution center projects that employ more than 7,500 people.

Continental Tire, Red Ventures (Internet sales/technology), URS Nuclea (engineering), Duracell, Haile Gold Mining/Romarco Minerals and Inspiration Networks (religious broadcaster) have facilities in Lancaster.

LCEDC has a $700K annual budget and four stafferss. Its RFP calls for a one-year contract beginning in September with an option to extend the pact for two more years.

The winning firm will commit to creatinhup to 25 pages of content annually, manage social media and develop a Chinese version of the site.

Proposals are due Aug 3.
