FTI ConsultingFTI Consulting and Blackstone Group are handling the auction of Relativity Media, film and entertainment company, that declared Chapter 11 on July 30.

Brunswick Group is advising Relativity on the communications front.

Brian Kushner, senior director at FTI, is directing the process as "chief restructuring officer.

Ryan Kavanaugh, founder of the 11-year-old company based in Beverly Hills, is expected to launch his own bid.

Relativity says it will continue to launch a "robust production slate of scripted and non-scripted shows during the reorganization."

It plans to release a comedy film called "Masterminds" and a Halle Berry thriller, "Kidnap."

Relativity also highlighted its TV show, "Limitless—spun off from the 2011 movie featuring Bradley Cooper—is slated to debut on CBS.

According to media reports, serious suitors such as Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim and wheeler-dealer Carl Icahn may bid for Relativity, which has fired 75 of its 350 staffers in the revamp.
