LifeLock

WPP's lobbying unit Ogilvy Government Relations has been hired to represent LifeLock, Inc. in Washington on finance and consumer-related issues.

The Tempe-AZ identity theft protection provider has tapped Ogilvy’s lobbying practice for “issues related to online safety and info security,” according to lobbying disclosure documents filed in December.

LifeLock was embattled in crisis in 2015 when the Federal Trade Commission determined the publicly traded company had violated the terms of a 2010 settlement for deceptive advertising. The blockbuster $100 million contempt charges levied at the company last year accounted for the largest monetary award granted to the Commission for an enforcement action.

Kimberly Allman, who directed government affairs in the Obama administration for the Corporation for National and Community Service, opened a LifeLock outpost in Washington, D.C. in November, where she assumed the role of VP of government affairs and corporate social responsibility.

An eight-member team at Ogilvy Government Relations will manage the LifeLock account.
