Hutchinson, Minnesota is seeking proposals from firms that can develop a community branding initiative and marketing strategy that positions the city as a desirable place for new residents and young families and attracts economic growth opportunities among prospective businesses and developers.

The McLeod County town, which sits along the Crow River about 60 miles west of the Twin Cities metro area, is known as “Minnesota’s Manufacturing City” and is home to the largest 3M Company plant in North America.

Hutchinson want an agency that can develop a community branding initiative for the city and a marketing campaign that utilizes various outlets to promote the community to its targeted audience.

Scope of the work also includes updating Hutchinson’s logo to better reflect the community; creating a research plan providing insights regarding current perceptions of Hutchinson as well as opportunities and challenges the city faces in enhancing its image; developing strategic objectives including implementation, management and promotion of the new brand; and developing a multi-media marketing plan.

The city writes that proposals “should be as thorough and detailed as possible so that the City may properly evaluate the capabilities of the firm to provide the required services and results.”

Deadline for proposals is 4 p.m. on June 7.
