Northumberland Tourism

Northumberland County, which is located on the north shores of Lake Ontario east of Toronto, is seeking social media support to attract eyeballs to its tourism site. 

Noted for its breathtaking scenery and a raft of available outdoor activities, Northumberland Tourism wants a firm “to attract and interact with targeted virtual communities and network users on social media, share relevant tourism-related news and create an engaging social media presence,” according to its RFP. 

The effort is part of its mandate to support competitive, sustainable tourism by attracting visitors and generating economic activity. 

The communications partner will bolster brand awareness around Northumberland (and key tourism partners and businesses) as a desirable destination for travel within Ontario according to target themes and audience interests. 

Northumberland plans to issue a one-year contract. There will be four one-year renewal options. 

Proposals are due Oct. 21.
