Doug Michelman, chief communications office at Visa Inc., is leaving after a ten-year stint to pursue other opportunities.
He handles media relations, PA, issues, stakeholder relations, brand marketing and technology matters.
Michelman joined VISA USA in 2003 as executive VP-corporate relations. Earlier, he managed Fleishman-Hillard's west coast operation and served as CEO of F-H technology consulting worldwide.
In a note to colleagues, Michelman said he plans to wind down Visa business during the next few weeks and then take a short break.
"After ten exciting years here at Visa, I've decided it's time for a change," he wrote.
He added: "Looking ahead I am ready for the next great opportunity and the challenges and excitement that comes with that. I will wrap up things here at Visa over the next few weeks and then take a short break."
