Levick alums Ian McCaleb and Robert Gemmill have rejoined Mark Irion, Hogan Lovells strategic communications head.
Irion did a three-year stint as president of Levick, after a stint as global PA chair at Grayling, which had acquired his DC lobbying powerhouse Dutko Worldwide.
He joined HL in 2017 to launch its strategic group formed to provided integrated communications advice to clients alongside its legal services offerings.
McCaleb headed Levick’s legal advisory and communications practice chair. He has worked for CNN, Fox News Channel, United Press International, McClatchy Newspapers, and Congressional Quarterly. He also served as a senior spokesman for the criminal division at the U.S. Department of Justice and senior counsel to the division’s assistant attorney general.
Gemmill was a lawyer in McCaleb’s group at Levick. Earlier in his career he was an associate at Cyron & Miller and has Congressional and gubernatorial campaign experience.
Irion praised HL’s new managing directors for understanding "precisely how to work with attorneys to execute communication strategies that protect clients’ legal and reputational interests.”
