Ogilvy Government Relations is working for Avangrid sustainable energy company related to offshore wind power and transmission matters.
The Interior Dept. on May 11 approved Avangrid’s Vineyard 1, an 800-megawatt project, as the country’s first large-scale wind project.
Construction will begin later this year and result in a facility that will power 400K homes and businesses in Massachusetts. The 62 turbines will be located 15 miles off Martha’s Vineyard.
Madrid-based Iberdrola energy giant owns an 81.5 percent stake in Avangrid. Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners is part of the Vineyard 1 joint venture.
Ogilvy's eight-member Avangrid team includes Tony Bullock (chief of staff to ex-New York Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan), Moses Mercado (deputy COS to former Rep. Dick Gephardt), Dean Aguillen (senior advisor to now Speaker Nancy Pelosi) and Karissa Willhite (deputy COS to Jersey Senator Bob Menendez).
WPP owns Ogilvy.
