Invariant has added Ellen Satterwhite, who has nearly 20 years of Silicon Valley, government and agency experience, to its strategic communications and public affairs team.

She will counsel Invariant’s technology clients on how to build brands, launch new products and manage regulatory and legislative issues through integrated communications campaigns.

Satterwhite joins Invariant from Patreon, which helps creators develop online platforms to manage and grow their subscription models, where she was head of global communications and US policy.

At San Francisco-based Patreon, Satterwhite oversaw corporate, crisis and policy communications programming, including consumer narrative building, thought leadership, issue escalation and response, and product launches

Previously, she was a VP at Glen Echo Group and a staff member at the Federal Communications Commission. She co-drafted and edited the FCC’s National Broadband Plan to improve access to the Internet.

Matthew Gallagher, head of Invariant’s strategic communications team, said Satterwhite is a “go-to advisor for technology and telecommunications companies facing pressing business challenges.”

She has helped c-suite executives “build and manage reputation, as well as navigate issues from artificial intelligence and online intermediary liability to radio frequency spectrum and emerging technologies,” he added.
